Morbern Signs Multi-Year Deal with Kryptek Camo

Posted on

Morbern, North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of vinyl coated fabrics announces it has formed a licensing agreement with outdoor adventure gear company Kryptek. The deal will make Morbern the manufacturer of vinyl bearing Kryptek’s signature camouflage patterns.

Kryptek develops proprietary camouflage for every global scenario, with 11 colorways tailored for specific environments. Unlike traditional stick and leaf camouflage, Kryptek’s design incorporates micro and macro layering inspired by artillery camouflage netting. It creates a three-dimensional appearance on a two-dimensional surface with near invisibility.

Morbern will translate Kryptek’s patterns onto vinyl using (n)deavor, an advancement in vinyl printing technology that uses a proprietary printing process to create original designs for use in harsh environments. (n)deavor is used primarily by the marine, recreational vehicle and outdoor manufacturing community to develop products that withstand water, wind, heat and cold. All of the Kryptek patterned vinyl will be manufactured at Morbern’s Cornwall, Ontario, facility.

“Kryptek is fast becoming the camo pattern of choice in a multitude of markets,” said John Weaver, Morbern’s executive vice president of sales and marketing, “ and we’re excited about expanding that popularity into the printed vinyl market.”

The Eagle, Idaho-based Kryptek was founded by Butch Whiting and Josh Cleghorn, military veterans who forged a friendship while serving together in Iraq. Kryptek provides combat proven features and designs in ultra-high-performance technical and tactical outdoor adventure apparel.

Article from International Boat Industry:

Morbern, the Canadian manufacturer of marine coated fabrics, has introduced a new Morbern Europe logo to strengthen its positioning in the European market. A multi-lingual Morbern Europe website and social media accounts will also be officially launched later this autumn.

“Since setting up our Amsterdam operation in 2015, we have quickly adapted our product range to meet the requirements of European customers,” says Carine Equeter, director of sales for Morbern Europe.

“With a rapidly expanding distribution network and growing number of end-users, the Morbern Europe brand is now ready to take an identity of its own. Our recent DAME nomination for Americana, the (n)deavor! outdoor high-resolution digital print vinyl, is a good example of Morbern product technology leading the way on both sides of the Atlantic,” she adds.

Morbern is a manufacturer of decorative vinyl upholstery fabrics, serving both OEMs and aftermarket suppliers in the marine, automotive, RV and commercial markets. Its products are produced in Canada and distributed in Europe via a central warehouse in Amsterdam.

Morbern’s (n)deavor! is the latest in marine vinyl printing technology. The proprietary printing process brings a new dimension to marine and other outdoor applications, allowing users to coordinate designs to create an original masterpiece.
